Non recognition of CompetenceApplicants who do not meet required standards and cannot expect to meet them in the future can feel like they are at a dead end. Regulators can help them by providing clear information about their assessment results and making referrals for alternate or new careers where they can use the skills, knowledge and experience they do possess.

Ways to get there…

  • Refer applicants to institutions where they may receive partial credit toward educational requirements for an alternate or new career
  • Refer applicants to supports to help them pursue an alternate or new career

 

Assessment results are never a dead end. Applicants have supports in place as they enter the labour market or move toward another stage such as gap training/re-assessment or an alternate career.
